I’m hoping to start up a weekly or biweekly game for a small group (about 3–5 people), using Shadowdark as the base ruleset. I have a few house rules I use to speed up play and beef up a character-driven game. I’m thinking Thursdays from 6–8 pm, but I’m open to discussing other dates/times if needed.

If there is interest, we can meet at Junction Food & Drink on Thursday, July 9th at 6 pm for introductions and a game overview. The game itself would be a sandbox-style setting with a shared group goal, such as lifting a mysterious curse or tracking down a legendary treasure.

The game is open to all levels of experience, orientation, and gender expression. No experience with Shadowdark or roleplaying games is necessary at all, just a willingness to jump in and have fun. I’ll even bring extra dice and pencils.

If you want to know more about the game mechanics and how characters are made, there is a free Shadowdark quickstart PDF

In the meantime, let me know if you are interested or have any questions.

A little about me beyond the Nerd Culture profile: I’m married with two kids. One kid is heading off to CSU in the fall, and the other is going into eighth grade at DSA. I work at the School of Art & Art History at DU and live in the Virginia Vale neighborhood.
