Community Code of Conduct

Welcome! This Community Code of Conduct is designed to promote a helpful and friendly culture, clarify moderation policies, and provide general guidelines for discussions taking place on this platform. To ensure a welcoming environment for all, we ask that users treat each other with respect, courtesy, and civility and report any incidents of harassment or discrimination. Everyone is welcome here.

The policies below outline what is expected from all community members when using public areas of this platform. These rules are not exhaustive and do not cover all types of offensive behavior. Moderators will review any reported or inappropriate behavior on a case-by-case basis.

Moderation Policy

This Code of Conduct exists to foster a helpful and friendly environment. When violations occur, the moderation team will investigate all parties involved. The following actions may be taken:

  • A public and/or private warning
  • Closure or removal of posts/threads
  • Account suspension ranging from a day to a year
  • Permanent user/account ban

Actions taken will depend on the severity of the violation and user history.

What is a suspension or ban?

A suspension temporarily restricts access to public areas, while a ban is permanent. These do not affect access to private games, forums, or purchased content.

Suspended or banned users will be unable to:

  • Create new threads or reply to public discussions
  • Use group-finding features
  • Send private messages

Circumventing a ban by posting through another account or via an external party will result in further moderation action.

Breach of Terms of Service

The Terms of Service and Privacy Policy apply to all areas of the site. Any violations will be subject to the penalties outlined therein.

If you have questions or wish to appeal moderation actions, please contact support@nerdculture.com. Be sure to provide relevant details such as URLs and screenshots. While privacy laws may limit our response, we will address inquiries as soon as possible.

Discrimination and Harassment

This platform enforces a zero-tolerance policy against discrimination and harassment. Bullying, discrimination, or harassment of any user or group—whether explicit or coded, through links or images—is strictly prohibited.

Violations of this policy may result in moderation actions as outlined in the Moderation Policy.

General Guidelines

All discussions should maintain a tone of respect and civility. To create a welcoming environment, please refrain from:

  • Personal attacks or name-calling
  • Passing judgment on gameplay styles, lifestyles, or personal choices
  • Using inflammatory or abusive language
  • Posting or messaging sexually explicit or excessively violent content
  • Sharing someone’s personal information
  • Engaging in or promoting illegal activities (e.g., piracy, fraud, phishing)
  • Trolling, passive aggression, or spamming
  • Abusing the report function
  • Violating area-specific guidelines

Advertising and Sales

While users are allowed to post links, promote, fundraise, or solicit for external advertising or sales, please do not aggressively spam posts about it.

Official Sources and Moderation Enforcement

The only official information comes from platform staff and designated moderators. Impersonating staff or moderators is prohibited.

Additionally, only official moderators should enforce the Code of Conduct. If you believe someone is violating the rules, please report the issue rather than responding directly.

Discussion of Moderator Actions

Users should refrain from:

  • Creating posts or threads to debate moderation actions
  • Publicly challenging or disregarding moderation statements
  • Posting chat logs, emails, or private messages
